Two teams from western Pennsylvania appeared in the PIAA state football championships on Saturday.
In the class 3A championship, Belle Vernon defeated Northern Lehigh by a final of 38-7. Belle Vernon has now won two straight state championships.
In the class 6A championship, North Allegheny lost to St. Joseph’s Prep by a final of 45-23.
