Pennsylvania unemployment numbers continue to skyrocket across the Commonwealth. According to the state’s Department of Labor and Industry almost 650,000 people have filed for unemployment in Pennsylvania.
Governor Tom Wolf says by the end of today, the number of unemployed people in the state could be close to 800,000.
“That’s about 10 percent of all the new claims in the United States,” Wolf said. “Pennsylvania is really the epicenter of the unemployment and insurance claims.”
Wolf says the state is working as quick as possible to process the surge in claims.
