The United States national women’s soccer team was defeated by Sweden on Sunday in the 2023 World Cup’s Round of 16.
Sunday’s game was decided by penalty kicks after the squads were tied 0-0 following 120 minutes of play.
Sweden was able to outlast the United States 5-4 on penalty kicks.
Officials expect Sweden to play Japan in the World Cup’s quarterfinals on Friday, August 11th.
