The United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania is encouraging residents to participate in a Day of Caring this week.
Local residents are invited to volunteer to create summer fun kits that will benefit families and kids who are trying to find outdoor activities.
After signing up through the United Way of Southwestern PA’s website, volunteers will get more information about what all is to be included in the kits.
Those packages can then be brought on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the United Way office on West Jefferson Street.
The kits will then be distributed to local youth by agency partners who are running summer programs this year.
