The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced plans to address damage to a highway bridge caused by an oversized vehicle.
The Interstate 79 Northbound bridge near mile marker 91, which runs over East Lancaster Road, will continue to have restrictions on the passing lane until further notice. Emergency plans are being developed to temporarily support the bridge which would allow the lane restriction to be lifted until a permanent repair is completed.
As of right now, East Lancaster Road is open for the foreseeable future, but officials say it could close soon.
An over-height vehicle struck and damaged the bridge on Friday, October 4th.
(A previous version of this story said E. Lancaster Rd. was closed. Officials say it will close eventually for construction, but is still currently open.)
