We have an update on an accident that happened last week in Muddy Creek Township, Butler County that sent two people to the hospital.
State Police say last Tuesday, August 4, 2020, 46-year-old Chad Garland, of New Castle, was driving north on Route 19, or Perry Highway, near Portersville just before 9pm. He and his passenger, 44-year-old Sherri Taylor of New Castle, were near Hohmanns Lane when the vehicle went off the road. The car struck a guard rail where it slid several feet before crossing over the rail and then hitting several small trees. The vehicle continued to rotate and then stopped about 100 feet from the road.
Garland was ejected from the vehicle. It is not known if he was wearing a seat belt. He was taken to UPMC Passavant by Harmony EMS.
Police say Taylor was wearing her seat belt. She was also taken to UPMC Passavant by Harmony EMS.
No word on their conditions today although their injuries were thought to be serious.
Assisting at the scene were Portersville Muddy Creek VFD, Harmony EMS, Portersville Muddy Creek EMS, and Pry’s Towing.
