A local medical provider is planning to build an addition at a busy facility.
At their meeting earlier this week, the Butler Township Planning Commission recommended approval to a plan introduced by representatives of the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center.
The company would like to construct a 2,000 square foot addition onto the Benbrook Medical Center on Technology Drive. The new section would hold a linear accelerator which is a device that allows cancer patients to receive external beam radiation treatments.
This addition comes after the facility added an expanded parking lot earlier this year. The next step in this process is final approval from Township Commissioners at a meeting later this month.
