The Butler VA is thanking its volunteers that help with local veterans as part of National Volunteer Week.
The VA has 117 people who volunteer their services to do things like drive, direct, serve, and comfort veterans.
“Every volunteer makes such a difference in our Veterans’ lives and enhances the Veteran experience,” Amy Tomko, Butler VA’s Voluntary Services Officer, said in a statement. “The purposeful commitment of the volunteers provides a sense of worth and honor to both the volunteer and Veteran alike.”
VA officials also say they are always looking for volunteers to assist. That includes opportunities with their Comfort Cart, which shares items with veterans while they wait for appointments. There are also volunteer services that can be done virtually.
