February is American Heart Month and the Butler VA Health Care System is hosting a couple free events for women Veterans.
The first activity is a Go Red gathering at Steele’s Brushes and Ceramics on North Main Street on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. Participants will try their hand at a ceramic heart craft and hear a presentation on heart health specific to women Veterans.
Then on Tuesday, the VA is hosting a Heart Health Prevention event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at their location on North Duffy Road. The Butler VA’s Chief of Staff will give a talk about heart health and attendees will also be able to view a demonstration of the Healthy Teaching Kitchen.
Women Veterans interested in participating in either of these activities are asked to RSVP by calling 878-271-6484 or 6989. Visit the VA website for more information.
