The Butler VA is beginning to reopen family visitations for residents of their community living center.
The policy officially went into place earlier this week. VA officials say visitations will be offered on a daily basis, with no more than four visits scheduled per day.
Army and Vietnam Veteran Bill Moore, 73, was one of the Sgt. Joseph George Kusick’s CLC residents scheduled for Tuesday’s visit. Moore has not seen his wife since the restriction last year and is looking forward to the visit. “I am excited just to be with her again.”
His longtime wife was extraordinarily excited for the opportunity to see her husband again.
“I immediately called our children to tell them the good news,” Kate Moore told the VA in a press release. “We were all crying. We are so thankful this day has come. Our prayers have been answered.”
All visitors will be screened upon entry and required to wear protective personal equipment. Only one visitor will be allowed per visit and no one under the age of 18 is permitted into the community living center.
