Vaunda G. Barnhart, 80, of McGinley Rd., Chicora, went to be with the Lord early Friday morning, August 16, 2024 while in the company of her loving family at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Vaunda was born in Butler on December 7, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Grace Davis Wise.
She attended school in East Brady and was a well-known area waitress for many years and retired from Miller’s Restaurant in Karns City. She was a long time member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora. Vaunda enjoyed computer games, bowling, puzzles, trips to the beach, and the company of her family, most especially, “the grandkids.”
Surviving is her long time companion James M. “Jim” Stahlman of Chicora; four children, Jim Fair and his wife, Mary, of Pittsburgh, Mary Cooper and her husband, Scott, of Butler, Ken Fleeger and his wife, Patty, of Bruin, and Sherri Fleeger of Chicora; her step children, Sharon E. Lucas and her husband, Robert, of East Brady and Robert J. Stahlman and his wife, Joyce, of Chicora. Vaunda was affectionately “Gram” to her numerous grandkids and great grandkids, whom she adored. Also surviving are three sisters, Shirley Weingartner of Chicora, Melanie Davis of Grove City, and Patricia Patsy of Chicora, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Lynn Fleeger, a son, Stephen C. Barnhart Sr., and a son-in-law, Eric Moore Sr..
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora from Noon-4 p.m. Sunday and on Monday from 10-11 a.m. in the Good Shepherd Room at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Chicora, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Boomhower, church pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia. Memorial contributions in Vaunda’s memory may be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation at www.komen.org.
