The latest winter storm dumped a couple inches of snow in Butler County on Wednesday morning, and now, residents are bracing for what could come next.
Freezing rain, sleet and eventually all rain is expected as we move towards Wednesday evening, according to the National Weather Service.
The morning snow came at the worst possible time- just as the morning commute was getting underway.
By 9 a.m., there were reports of traffic at a complete standstill on portions of Route 228, Route 8 and Route 19 southbound at the PA Turnpike in Butler County.
South Main Street Hill in the city of Butler was also closed for a time due to treacherous conditions.
Once the snow stopped by 11 a.m., many city intersections were still snow-covered or slushy.
