Vincent R. “Vinny” “Jim” Cammisa, age 85, of Butler, passed away Wed., May 12, 2021 at Concordia Lutheran Services, Cabot.
Born in Butler on Sept. 19, 1935, he was the son of Ettore “Hector” and Virginia Corcetti Cammisa.
A hair stylist, he owned and operated Cammisa’s House of Style for 64 years.
He served in the U.S. Marines in the Korean Conflict.
He belonged to Natili’s Golf League.
He was an avid hunter who loved the outdoors and his favorite hobby was golf. He enjoyed teaching people the Italian language and how to cook Italian dishes. A hardworking man, he never complained. He loved building decks and wintering in Arizona. He was multitalented, funny, and unique. He is unforgettable and he touched the lives of many.
He is survived by two sons, Gary L. Cammisa and his wife, Alma, of Butler, and Thomas J. Cammisa and his wife, Brenda, of Butler; seven grandchildren, Chad Cammisa and his wife, Whitney, Cory Cammisa and his wife, Ashley, Curtis Cammisa, Emele Cammisa, Evan Cammisa, Ava Cammisa, and Quinn Ishman; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Camden Cammisa; one sister, Mary Lu Steighner and her husband, Ron, of Butler; and his significant other, Cindy Ishman, of Butler.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Smith Cammisa, who passed away Feb. 18, 2016; and one son, Scott V. Cammisa, who passed away May 2, 2017.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Avenue, Butler, on Friday from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be private.
Entombment will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
