Viola E. “Sue” Biffaretti, 76, of Butler, passed away Sunday morning, December 10, 2023 in the comfort of her home.
Viola was born in Butler on April 14, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Katherine Knepp Fox.
She was a 1965 graduate of Butler Area High School and was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Butler.
Viola was a homemaker and was a devoted and loving caretaker to her son Michael throughout his life. Sue enjoyed playing cards with her family and listening to Elvis Presley.
Sue was married at St. Mark Church in Butler on June 10, 1967 to Lewis L. Biffaretti. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Michele M. Smith and her husband, Jayme of Peyton, CO and Nicole L. Kuhns and her husband, Jack, of Butler; eight grandchildren, Cassandra, Caleb, Tyler, Alyssa, Emily, Jack III, Jake, and Jaret; eight great grandchildren, Madi, Evan, Bella, Leo, Ciara, Zoey, Caleb Jr., and Jamison; a brother, Ernest “Red” Fox and his wife, Peggy, of Butler; two sisters, Grace “Peg” Flanigan of Kittanning and Sandra “Sandy” Kuriger of Lyndora; a sister-in-law, Donna Bopp of Butler, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael A. Biffaretti and two brothers, Russell “Butch” Fox and Herbert “Herb” Fox, as well as a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday. A funeral service will follow from the funeral home at 7 p.m. with the Rev. David M. Phillips, pastor of St. Mark Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mt. Chestnut. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen at www.komen.org.
