Even though spring is on the horizon and many people have been getting vaccinations to reduce the spread of COVID-19, many restrictions still remain on visits to long-term care facilities.
The PA Department of Aging’s Office of the Long Term Care Ombudsman is sponsoring a Virtual Family Council meeting from 4:30 to 6 p.m. today. Speakers from the Center for Medicare Advocacy will discuss Medicare coverage and nursing home therapy.
The next virtual meeting will be held on March 23rd featuring a presentation about a program called APPRISE that can help residents in long-term care facilities.
Families will be able to ask questions at both meetings however specific issues involving a particular resident or facility will not be addressed.
