A virtual town hall next week will focus on the dangers of underage drinking.
The online zoom event aims to educate parents and kids about strategies that you can use to talk to your kids about how to resist alcohol.
Lisa Gill is with the Butler County Drug and Alcohol Program and she says new study shows how big of an issue underage drinking is.
“Underage drinking, and actually even adult alcohol use, was the county’s number one substance use issue,” Gill said.
Gill also says that study revealed that nearly a third of kids have considered drinking alcohol.
“Just in Butler County we found that 31.9 percent of students showed a willingness to use alcohol, indicating that they would like to try it or would use it any chance they got,” Gill said.
The town hall will feature Gill and other speakers. It begins at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 22nd.
