We’ve been reporting on the critically low shortage of blood supply since the beginning of the pandemic, and a nonprofit service is doubling down on that message.
Vitalant operates hundreds of blood drives in the area this year, and they say that Type O blood has plummeted in supply.
It’s now under a two-day supply, the lowest since May 2020.
Officials say they need 1,000 additional volunteer each week to make and keep donation appointments.
