The Butler County Area Vocational Technical School is one of many across the state that will receive grant funding to help with implementing health and safety plans.
According to Governor Tom Wolf, the Vo-Tech has been awarded nearly $92,000 of Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Funds which have been allocated out of the federal CARES Act.
This Act allows governors to determine how to best use the educational funding in their states and Wolf has assigned about $10.5 million to help Career and Technical Education Centers.
Institutions can use the funding to support continuity of education programs as well as industry credential assessments for students affected by COVID shutdowns.
Grant recipients will be contacted by the Department of Education for more information about how the funding will be dispersed.
