The Mars Area School District and nearby residents are giving thanks for the efforts of some local Vo-Tech students.
The district recently commissioned students in the Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School’s Building Construction and Carpentry programs to build and install a sound barrier around the HVAC system at Mars Area Elementary School.
The barrier is made up of wooden panels meant to deflect sound after neighbors had voiced concerns about excessive noise coming from the equipment.
The boards for each panel were cut using a router and pre-assembled at the vo-tech before being transported to the school for instillation last week. The vo-tech instructors developed the design of the barrier.
