Students at the Butler County Area Vocational Technical School are lending a hand with the restoration of a local one-room schoolhouse.
Woodworking and carpentry students recently prepared rough cut stock lumber to achieve tongue and groove pine that will be used in the Foltz School project.
The Foltz one-room school house is located in Slippery Rock on Route 8 North near the Old Stone House.
The Moraine, McConnells Mill, and Jennings Commission continues to work on restoring this historic site which was built in 1880 and closed in 1963 as one of the last public, one-room schools to be used in the state.
