Red Cross volunteers from Butler County have joined others from around western Pennsylvania heading down to Texas to assist with the devastating damage of Hurricane Harvey.
According to the American Red Cross, Mike Blessel of Butler and Ken Bowser of Cranberry have both headed south to help. Blessel will be helping in the Red Cross shelters set up in Texas and Bowser is expected to serve as an emergency response vehicle driver.
The Red Cross of Western Pennsylvania said the organization has sent 32 people to participate in disaster relief efforts.
