With many of the major races across Pennsylvania already settled before voters casted a ballot, the statewide voter turnout rate was one of the lowest in the last decade.
Just one in four Republican and Democratic voters cast a ballot in last week’s election. It was the lowest participation in a presidential primary election since 2012 in Pennsylvania.
Butler County was middle-of-the-pack compared to the other 67 counties across the Keystone State with 26 percent turnout.
The highest turnout was in Wyoming County at 34 percent.
Political experts however expect the November election to garner a much bigger turnout, with Presidential and Senate races on the ballot.
