There will be no Triple Crown winner in 2019, as War of Will won the Preakness on Saturday night.
War of Will held odds of 7–1 going into Saturday’s race. Country House, who was the winner of the Kentucky Derby earlier this month, did not race due to medical reasons. It was the first time in 23 years that the Kentucky Derby winner did not race in the second leg of the Triple Crown. Maximum Security, who initially won the Kentucky Derby and was later disqualified, also did not race on Saturday.
