With another day in the mid-80s, Central Electric is issuing a peak alert.
They ask that customers conserve energy by turning off all non-essential electric items and set air conditioners to 78 degrees.
Also, they say that items like pool pumps, dehumidifiers, and other electrical are best used outside of the peak period from 1 to 7 p.m.
The CEC says that small adjustments to electrical usage can help save money during high demand hours.
Meanwhile, AccuWeather says people can expect these conditions over the next couple of days throughout the entire Northeast.
AccuWeather meteorologists say that the steamy air will help to set the stage for rounds of heavy to severe thunderstorms to erupt on a daily basis through the end of the week.
“Anyone stepping outside across the region may think they’ve been transported to Florida due to the high humidity levels that have made it feel stifling,” AccuWeather meteorologists said in a press release.
