Warren C. McCommon, 78, of Butler, PA, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 24, 1943 in Butler, PA, the son of the late Warren “Gene” McCommon and Sylvia (McCullough) McCommon.
Warren served in the US Army and received the Vietnam Service medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal and National Defense Service medal sharpshooter. He was a hard working man working as a mechanic and a carpenter. He enjoyed teaching his grandson “the boy” his tricks and trades, spending time at the park with Frank playing with his grand dog Duke. He liked having a beer with friends and treasured time with his family.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Elaine (Butch Phipps) McCommon of Butler, Arlene (Tom) Singer of Butler,and Sherrie Montgomery of Fenelton; 8 grandchildren, Heather (Joseph) Gigliotti, Heidi (Daniel) Barron, Racquel (John) Pakutz, Leroy “the boy” Steiner, Kendra Self, Brittany Self, Dustin Montgomery, and Clair Snyder; 4 great grandchildren, Joseph, Sophia, Penelope and John Gigliotti; sister, Bonnie Manning of Erie; brother, Wayne “David” (Julie) McCommon of Butler, son in law, John M. Graham, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the loving husband of the late Wilma (Day) McCommon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 daughters, infant and Phyllis Graham, 2 sisters, Sylvia “Sam” and Freida, and 2 brothers, Tom and Dan.
Friends will be received at Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 28, 2021at 11 AM.
Military honors will be held in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.
