High School Sports:
–The WPIAL will announce the high school boys and basketball playoff match ups tonight. The games will begin this weekend. Hear the annual tournament pairing show tonight from the Trib-Live High School Sports Network on WBUT 1050am, the New 97.3fm and at wbut.com beginning at 7pm.
Boys Basketball last night:
–The Butler Boys defeated North Allegheny 78-75 last night for their fifth victory in a row. Devin Carney netted 36 points for the Golden Tornado. Butler improved to 10-7 overall and 5-6 in Class 6A Section-1. North Allegheny has lost four of their last six and fell to 13-6 overall, 8-4 in the section. Butler will face Seneca Valley Wednesday.
–Knoch will host Derry tonight for a 7:30pm tip-off. Pre-game begins at 7:15pm on WISR.
–The Freeport boys defeated Burrell 62-55. Cole Charlton led the Yellow Jackets with 18.
–Seneca Valley defeated Norwin 75-56. Cole Brooks and Connor Lyczek had 24 points each to lead the Raiders.
Girls Basketball:
–Butler defeated Penn-Trafford 47-31.
–Seneca Valley defeated Pine-Richland 57-41. Jaden Davensizer led Seneca Valley with 21.
–North Catholic defeated Mohawk 58-49.
–Karns City defeated AC Valley 27-24.
–Slippery Rock-52 Grove City-30. Hallie Raabe led Slippery Rock with 15.
