A couple of local organizations are team up to hold an event focused on wealth inequality later this week.
The United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania and Slippery Rock University invite residents to a poverty spiral simulation at Butler SUCCEED on North Main Street in Butler from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Participants will have the chance to challenge preconceived notions about poverty while putting themselves in the shoes of someone facing situations without clear solutions. The goal of the event is to increase empathy toward neighbors who are experiencing financial instability.
There is no cost to attend but registration is required. Visit the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania website for more information.
