A couple of local food distribution events are planned for this weekend.
The first will be held Saturday in Chicora at the Christ’s Family Church on West Slippery Rock Street from noon until 4 p.m. Boxes containing milk, canned goods, fresh produce, and dry goods will be distributed.
The next distribution takes place in neighboring Lawrence County on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. at The Towne Mall Cascade Galleria Plaza in New Castle.
Volunteers will load boxes of fresh milk provided by Marburger Dairy, as well as assorted fresh produce and shelf-stable groceries into the vehicles of families in need. Organizers hope to distribute thousands boxes of food to up to 1,500 families on a first come, first served basis.
