College Football Saturday:
–Penn State will host Purdue for a noon kick-off. Pre-game begins at 11am on WBUT.
–Pitt travels to Duke for an 8pm kick off. The Panthers enter the game 3-2 overall, 0-1 in the ACC. Duke is 3-1 and 1-0 in the ACC. Pitt defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman was named the Outland Trophy National Defensive Player of the Month Thursday, as voted on by the Football Writers Association of America. Twyman has six sacks through Pitt’s first five games.
–Slippery Rock will visit Mercyhurst. Kick-off in Erie is noon. Hear the game on The Rock Station 97.7fm beginning at 11:30am with the Coach Shawn Lutz Show.
–Grove City will host Carnegie Mellon at 2pm.
–Clarion is home to Seton Hill at 2pm.
–IUP is hosting California in the annual “Coal Bowl” at 2pm.
–Geneva is at St. Vincents at 1pm.
–Westminster travels to face Case Western Reserve at 7pm.
NFL Thursday Night Football:
–Seattle defeated the Los Angeles Rams 30-29. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson led his team to the winning score with just over two minutes remaining in the game. Seattle intercepted Rams quarterback JAred Goff on the following series, but the Rams would get the ball back only to miss a 44-yard field goal with 15 seconds left that could have won the game.
The Pittsburgh Steelers host the Baltimore Ravens in another AFC North match-up Sunday at Heinz Field. Kick-off is 1pm. Pre-game begins just after noon on WISR.
