It’s a great weekend to enjoy some outdoor activities at Moraine State Park.
First, the Muddy Creek Oil Field Living History Demonstration at Moraine State Park will be open Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Park Road. Volunteers will operate the antique engines and answer questions as part of this free event.
Then on Sunday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. park staff will present a program on the Hunter’s Full Moon at the Lakeview Beach Area Pavilion 4 on the North Shore. Visitors will be able to learn about the names and history of this particular moon as well as take a closer look with a telescope.
Those planning to attend are advised to bring a chair or blanket and dress for the weather. Bring binoculars as well if you have them.
