Five new COVID-19 cases were announced for Butler County over the weekend, bringing the total to 268.
Across the state, there were 464 new positive cases and four deaths reported. The total number of cases statewide is 81,226; the state Department of Health estimates that 77% of those cases have now recovered.
State Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine is encouraging state residents to not let their guard down in fight against the coronavirus.
“This virus is not gone,” Levine said. “It’s very important for people to not be complacent, and not to have a false sense of security that the virus is somehow gone from Pennsylvania or the United States. It is not.”
Levine and health officials ask that residents keep social distancing and wear masks.
