A local utility has been recognized by the United States Environmental Protection Agency for contributions to energy efficient construction.
West Penn Power, a First Energy utility, is one of 15 organizations across the state to receive the Energy Star Residential New Construction Market Leader Award.
Nearly 350 organizations nationwide achieved this honor for committing to help homeowners save money and energy through this voluntary program. Reduction in energy use through increased efficiency in homes and appliances also reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
