William “Big Bill” Shuler, 70, of Butler passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023. He was born in Butler on May 8, 1953 to the late Regis and Elizabeth “Betty” (Ehrman) Shuler. Bill worked for A.F. Shuler and Sons from the age of 16 until 1985, when he started with Etzel Masonry, until his retirement. He was known for being extremely hardworking, and a great husband, father, and grandfather. Bill was a lifetime farmer, a member of the local 323 laborers’ union, and East Butler Fireman Club. He enjoyed farming, riding and training horses, and camping. William was the beloved husband of Patricia (Deal) Shuler since their marriage in 1977; father of William (Jamie) Shuler II, Christina (Paul) Edwards, Leeann Shuler, Amanda Fennell, and Thomas Shuler; brother of Helen (James) Schnur and Tammy (William) Anthony; grandfather of 12. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother John and a great grandchild.
