William “Bill” Minich, 82, of Butler, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Quality Life Services in Sarver. Born in Butler on April 22, 1942, he was the son of the late Ruth Moore and John Minich. He graduated from Butler High School in 1960 before honorably serving in the U.S. Army. After the military, he was hired at Armco Steel Corp. where he worked for 40 years prior to retiring in 2003.
Bill was an avid hunter, golfer and fisherman in his free time and also played softball for many years. He took great pride in both his flower and vegetable gardens and would spend countless hours ensuring that they thrived. Bill was also a fanatical Pittsburgh sports fan and rarely missed watching Pirate baseball games.
Bill was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis (Miller) Minich, whom he married on November 28, 1964, at Trinity Lutheran Church; father of Eileen (Gary) Tuck and Brian (Elizabeth Holmen) Minich; grandfather of Courtney (Aaron) Taylor, Ryan and Eric Tuck; great grandfather of Peyton Taylor. Along with his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, John Minich and sister, Joanne Fogel.
