William “Bill” Walter Bertoncello, 71, a longtime resident of Butler, passed away from complications of pneumonia on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. He was born in Butler on November 20, 1952, to the late Andro and Mildred (Voelker) Bertoncello. Bill graduated from Moniteau High School, he began as a worker in a Greenhouse then transitioned into working in restaurants including Garden Gate and The Runway. Bill was known for being a caring and religious person who enjoyed socializing with others. He adored his cat, Socky that he adopted from an animal shelter. Bill also enjoyed crafts and woodworking; entering many items in the local area fairs and farm shows, as well as participating in Art and Craft shows with his mother, Mildred. He was an avid gardener and operated a small greenhouse from his family home. Brother of Larry and wife, Emogene Bertoncello; uncle of Adam and wife, Kate Bertoncello and Evan Bertoncello; he is also survived by numerous cousins and second cousins. Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother Robert “Bob” Bertoncello. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 5-7 PM at the SPENCER D.
