William D. Neil, Sr., 77, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 20, 1940 in Butler, the son of the late Pryor David and Bernice (Black) Neill.
Bill was a retired truck driver from CRST (Cedar Rapids Steel Transport). He received a certificate for driving one million miles accident free from Malone Trucking. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, boating and water skiing. He was a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. He also belonged to the Western PA Retread Association.
Surviving are his wife, Judith A. (McCandless) Neill of Butler whom he married July 15, 1958; his son, William Neill, Jr. of Butler; 2 daughters, Lori A. (Ralph) McPherson of Butler and Marci Neill of Butler; 3 grandchildren, Ralph McPherson, Jr. of Wexford, Michael McPherson of Butler and Abigail (Corey) Gregory of Eau Claire; 3 great grandsons, Caleb, Colin and Cole Gregory.
Friends will be received at Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Saturday, January 6, 2017 from 2-5PM.
Services will be held on Sunday at 2 PM at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, with his pastor, Rev. Alden Towberman officiating.
