William David “Bill” Vardy, Jr., 81, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 28, 2024.
Born on May, 5, 1942, in Phillipsburg, Pennsylvania, to the late William David Vardy, Sr. and the late Grace Thelma [Rupert] Vardy.
Dave graduated from Butler Senior High School. He was a Sergeant in the National Guard. Dave was a co-owner of Highway Repair Shop “Auto-Body Repair”. After retiring, he worked in the maintenance department at Walmart. Dave loved Go Kart racing and won many trophies. He enjoyed working on his classic vehicles and hunting. Dave was a member of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church. Most of all he loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and dance recitals.
He is survived by the love of his life, Barbara Anne [Sheakley] Vardy, whom he married on November 24, 1967; one son, Scott Vardy of Chicora, PA; two daughters, Lori (Dave) Richards of New Castle, PA, Melissa (Dan) Vardy of Gilberts, IL; three grandchildren, Gracyn Vardy, Walker Vardy, and Cruz Vardy; two sisters; Gertrude (Bob) Saeler, Anna Vardy; ten nieces; and five nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Randy Jason Vardy; one brother, James Vardy; and one nephew, Lance Vardy.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001.
A Military Service with Full Honors will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 11:00am at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faith Way, Butler, PA 16001; following this will be a Funeral Service with Pastor Andrew Wills, officiating.
