William H. “Bill” Campbell, 82, of Fairview, left us Tuesday afternoon, July 20, 2021 at New Haven Court in Butler.
Bill was born on the family farm in West Sunbury on January 7, 1939. He was the son of the late Richard J. and Viletta V. Stamm Campbell.
He was a 1957 graduate of Concord Twp. High School in Hooker. Bill served four years in the United States Air Force and was stationed in both Guam and Alaska. First and foremost, Bill was a devoted family man. He was an avid fly fisherman and a Pirate baseball fan. He enjoyed golfing, attending pro tennis matches with his daughter, tinkering around the house, and fixing things. Bill loved dancing, music and traveling with his wife. In his earlier years, he had been employed at Armco in Butler. He was later employed by United Telephone and Sprint and retired as a telecommunications engineer in 1997. The Campbells attended Scrubgrass Stone Church in Emlenton
He is survived by his wife, Carole J. Rhodes Campbell, whom he married in Sacramento, CA on November 13, 1965. Also surviving are two daughters, Kelly A. Campbell and her significant other, Kris Abrams, of Albuquerque, NM and Jennifer J. Campbell Capparelli and her husband, Louis, of Columbus, OH; a sister, Vera Edinboro and her husband, Leslie, of West Sunbury; a sister-in-law, Jan M. Rhodes of San Francisco, CA, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
