William J. “Bill” Criley, 72, of Butler passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024. He was born in Natrona Heights on January 14, 1952 to the late Richard and Dorothy (Lang) Criley. Bill served his country honorably in the Army Reserves for 18 years,and worked as brick mason for over 50 years. Bill loved music and was a lead guitarist and played the bass in many bands like “The New Era”, “Mixed Emotions”, “Wild & Blue”, and “The Hellacious Crileys”. He was an active member of the Lions Club and won the “Lion of The Year” award in 2023. He also enjoyed rock tumbling in his spare time. Bill was known as hardworking, giving, a good friend and most of all, a great husband, father and grandfather. Bill was the beloved husband of Cindy (Whitling) Criley since their marriage in 1983; father of Jeremy (Julie) Criley, Selena Criley, Bill (April Hileman) Criley III, and Shawn Criley; brother of Ron (Roberta) Criley and Lorrie (John) Davellia; grandfather of Molly, Sidney, Becky, Steven, Lycia, Harrison, Draven, Shawn, Rylan and Makenna. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved son Jason Criley. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 5-7 PM at the SPENCER D.
