Last weekend the Butler Cultural District made its debut, highlighting the arts community in Butler.
The district is sponsored in part by the Butler Rotary Club, who is announcing the winners of their banner art competition.
There were 27 banners displayed throughout the district in downtown Butler. A panel of judges chose the work by Lynda Kirby as the overall winner. She takes home $250 in cash.
The People’s Choice Award meanwhile went to Ben Hughes and he was awarded $300 for his work.
Second Place tie $150 each: Chelsea Grubbs and Alina Glath
Third Place $100: Kevin Cramer
People’s Choice Award $300: Ben Hughes
Other entrants were: Bethany Scuticchio, Gary Sarti, John Boozel, Katie Griffith, Kayla Hall, Kayla Roy, Lizz Ford, Luca Panei, Margie Wolfe, Marianne Hill, Matthew Conboy, Niemi Wayne, Rosanne Natili, Sherrie Dunlap Gallagher, Shirley McCauley, Sue Burtner, and Susan Bowser.
The banners are still on display throughout the Cultural District and will remain up on the fence around the former Middle School through Veterans Day.
