Lottery officials have announced that at least one person will be the winner of the second-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history following Friday’s drawing.
One winning ticket was sold this week in Illinois, which matched all of the numbers drawn on Friday.
Going into Friday’s drawing, the jackpot was expected to be $1.28billion, but was later increased to $1.337billion based on additional sales.
The person or people who purchased the winning ticket will have an option to take a lump sum of $780.5million. Officials also say that the convenience store that sold the ticket will receive a $500,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
