A local state park is getting ready to welcome thousands of guests this weekend to a free outdoor event.
Moraine State Park will host Winterfest 2024 at the McDanels Launch Area on the North Shore on Saturday.
The family friendly gathering will begin at 11 a.m. and conclude around 3 p.m. with winter-themed festivities, warm food, and live music.
Participants will be able to enjoy guided hikes, horse drawn wagon rides, a photo contest, scavenger hunt, chainsaw carvings, disc golf, face painting, local craft vendors, and kids activities.
The first 250 families will receive a swag bag with a chance to win tickets for a cruise on the Preston Pearl.
