The Butler Transit Authority will make wireless service available to riders on their commuter bus service to and from Pittsburgh.
The Authority’s board has agreed to an agreement with Industrial Network Solutions for 10G speed service on five compressed natural gas coach buses pending solicitor’s review.
Equipment costs will total just over $6,500 and then the authority will pay a yearly fee of just under $3,700 for continuing service. This agreement also includes a 5 year warrantee.
Data use will be limited so that no one rider is taking up all of the available bandwidth. The service is expected to be in place and active by sometime in April or early May.
