The Wolf Administration is making the largest governmental commitment to solar power.
The initiative is called Pennsylvania PULSE and General Services Secretary Curt Topper explains what to expect.
“It’ll be achieved through seven solar arrays to be built right here in Pennsylvania,” Topper said. “Once built in 2023, PULSE will provide roughly half of the electricity used by our state government, and the arrays will supply 100 percent of the electricity of the 134 accounts across 16 state agencies,” Topper said.
Most of the arrays will be placed on leased farmland in the middle of the state.
Topper also added that there will be a fixed-price over the 15-year agreement.
