As part of the fight against overdose deaths, the Wolf Administration is expanding the standing order of naloxone.
Naloxone is a life-saving medication that reverses the effects of an overdose and standing orders allow for the general public and first responders to obtain naloxone from local phramacies.
The expanded standing order now includes ZIMHI which is a five milligram intra-muscular injection device that comes as a single-dose pre-filled syringe or a carton containing two cases of syringes.
The medication is also available for free for personal use through a statewide mail-based program. A naloxone training video is available through the Train PA website.
