The Wolf administration is unveiling their plan to battle the impact on climate change in the state.
It’s called the Pennsylvania Climate Action Plan. Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Patrick McDonnell details some of the plans.
“We’ll get our biggest greenhouse gas emission reduction from creating a carbon-free electrical grid that uses renewable and nuclear energy,” McDonnell said. “Our next biggest emission reduction will come from increasing industrial energy efficiency and transitioning industrial process heating away from fossil fuels.”
“And our third biggest emission cut will come from getting more electrical cars and trucks on the road.”
McDonnell says that if the state fails to reach these goals, that carbon emissions will be higher in 2050 than they were in 2005.
