More than 100 days after the state’s first coronavirus case was confirmed, Governor Tom Wolf says Pennsylvania has been a leader in the country when it comes to reducing the overall number of cases.
Wolf said at a press conference Wednesday that the state’s new case count has consistently fallen over the past month.
“The Center for Disease Control and Prevention says that Pennsylvania is one of just three states, along with Hawaii and Montana, that has had a downward trajectory in COVID-19 cases for more than 42 days,” Wolf said.
The number of new cases is about a quarter of what the case count was at Pennsylvania’s peak. Wednesday marked the fourth straight day with under 400 new positive cases.
Wolf cites his administration’s science-based approach to reopening the state.
