Cases of COVID are on the rise across the country, including Pennsylvania.
However, Governor Tom Wolf says the state is still well-below the surge that other states are seeing.
“Every state including Pennsylvania has seen a percentage increase, but our cases per 100,000 are like at four, and I think the national average is 12. So we’re well below the national average,” Wolf said. “So I think what we need to do is redouble our efforts on vaccines.”
And what about a mask mandate returning? Governor Wolf says that it’s not likely at this point.
“Our strategy here in Pennsylvania has been the vaccine. And I think that has worked. If you want to protect yourself or your family against COVID, get the vaccine,” Wolf said. “We did the masks and the mitigation when we didn’t have the vaccine.”
There are now 62 percent of the state’s population 18 and older that are fully vaccinated.
