Following the death of Chief Justice Max Baer, Governor Tom Wolf now has a chance to name his replacement to the state’s Supreme Court.
But, a spokesperson for Wolf says the governor is still deciding whether or not to put someone up as the nominee.
The process also has the potential to be drawn out as the nominee would need to be confirmed by the Republican-led State Senate.
If confirmed, that justice would serve until next year when an election would be held to name Baer’s full-time successor.
There are seven judges that serve on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
