Improvements continue to be made at Butler City parks.
Crews are expected to begin work on a pedestrian bridge near the bocce ball courts and Bauer Shelter at Memorial Park on Monday.
“They’re going to be putting in the abutments on January 15 and then I think the rest of it is going to be done a little later on,” Councilman Dan Herr explained. “But, then they have line painting, ADA signs and other things to do as well.”
Additional work at Memorial Park will take place once materials have been received with some paving of ADA parking planned for the spring.
Last year crews installed new sidewalks at Rotary Park along with a shelter, more parking, improved ADA compliance, and new playground equipment. Work also took place at the Christie Avenue Playground.
Over a million dollars to pay for these projects came through Community Development Block Grant Cares Act funding.
